Harvesting Hope: Tackling Food Waste is now finished!

Our youth exchange project Harvesting Hope: Tackling Food Waste with reference number 2024-1-IS01-KA152-YOU-000227481, was held in Selfoss between 05.10.2024-11.10.2024. A total of 6 countries including Iceland, Czech Republic, Turkey, Portugal and Croatia participated in the project.

In our project, which aims to prevent food waste and raise awareness on this issue by drawing attention to the fact that 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted worldwide every year, activities were organised to encourage individuals to change their consumption habits, promote sustainable consumption and contribute to the fight against hunger by focusing on the environmental, economic and social effects of food waste.

Within the scope of the project, our participants developed themselves culturally and socially, while having a pleasant time and making unforgettable memories.

Our Harvesting Hope: Tackling Food Waste project, which we left the first three days behind, continues with its exciting activities.

In the first three days of our project, various introductions, energizer, Erasmus+ programme and Youthpass information, banner design and cultural activities such as Never Waste, Food Waste Panel Study, Consequences of Food Waste were held.

Participants from Iceland, Turkey, Portugal, Czech Republic and Croatia met in Selfoss for our project titled Harvesting Hope: Tackling Food Waste. Our project activities will continue until 11.10.2024.
